OPEF's BASE Camp - Build Day on Monday, January 19 (MLK Day)!

Register now for Monday's OPEF's BASE Camp - Build Day on Monday, January 19 (MLK Day)!  The camp will run from 8 am - 3 pm with optional extended care available until 6 pm.

Information and registration are here, or download the attached registration form.

All day, kids will build stuff (hands-on), build friendships (teamwork), build connections (link to the real world), all wrapped up in fun.

  • K-5th graders will rotate through four fun, 90-minute activities involving constructing with LEGOs, building a buoy, playing gym games, and creating a dream dwelling with recycled materials.
  • 6th-8th graders can choose one of two day-long experiences:
    • Build Stuff like Rube Goldberg - Kids will collaborate to configure “found” stuff into a wacky, complicated Rube Goldberg machine, with rolling ping pong balls, falling dominoes and other elaborate contraptions.
    • Build Stuff with Coding - All kids, with or without prior coding experience, will spend the day working at their own pace trying different coding challenges that interest them.
All cool and all fun, and classes are filling quickly. Cost is  $75+ (and $25 for extended care), with a limited number of still scholarships available to D97 students.
